A three-hour presentation for people who are part of, live in, or work with Asian American communities and who are interested in eliminating racism and racial inequities. Using data and research, it reveals the often-overlooked impacts of racism on Asian American communities by disaggregating data to surface disparities; controlling for similar profiles to show relative disadvantages compared to White Americans; and examining major events (such as the COVID-19 pandemic) that produced negative outcomes and increased vulnerability. It can complement the Groundwater presentation or serve as an entry point for Asian Americans to understand how racism impacts their communities.
