REI believes change is not a one-time event but requires long-term commitment and collective wisdom. Phase II explores the concepts and analysis taught in Phase I more deeply and teaches how to apply them. It examines the shift from personal experience to institutional outcomes; from fish to lake (individuals to institutions); from lake to groundwater (separate institutions to interconnected systems); from personal to collective; and from thinking racism only negatively affects people of color to understanding the harm that affects everyone. Phase II is a step on the journey from analysis to action.
