How the Racial Equity Institute collects, uses, shares, and protects information across our website, training and event registration, and donations.

Last updated June 19, 2026

The Racial Equity Institute (REI) has worked since 1995 to dismantle structural racism through the data-driven Groundwater Approach. We respect the people and organizations we serve, and we handle the information you share with the same care we bring to the work itself.

Section 1

Information we collect

Contact & inquiries. When you complete our contact form or email us, we collect the details you provide — name, email, organization, and the contents of your message.

Event & training registration. When you register or book through our trainings and conferences pages or our scheduling system, we collect registration details such as your name, contact information, host organization, and the service requested.

Donations. When you give through our donate page, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete your gift. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Technical & analytics data. Our hosting and form providers may log standard technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages requested — for security, reliability, and aggregate analytics.

Section 2

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; to schedule, deliver, and support trainings and consulting; to process registrations and donations; to communicate with you about our work; to operate, secure, and improve our website; and to meet our legal, tax, and contractual obligations.

Section 3

We do not sell your information

REI does not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you.

Section 4

Cookies & analytics

Our website does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics and essential form and security cookies. If we add additional analytics, we will update this Policy and honor applicable consent requirements.

Section 5

Third-party processors

We share information only with vetted service providers bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms, including our scheduling and booking platform, our payment processor (Stripe) for donations, and our email and website hosting providers. We may also disclose information to comply with law or lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of REI, our clients, or others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites we link to; please review their policies.

Section 6

Your rights & retention

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may unsubscribe from our communications at any time. We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymized. To exercise any right, email info@racialequityinstitute.org.

Section 7

Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for organizations and adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Section 8

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
